Shearith Israel is an egalitarian, Conservative synagogue located in Intown Atlanta. Our congregation is devoted to spiritual and religious enrichment. We are especially passionate about Jewish education and community building!
At Shearith Israel, we are ritually traditional and courageously progressive. For more than 100 years, we have served the Atlanta area by providing an energetic environment for pursuing Jewish spirituality, learning, and friendship. Above all else, we strive to be a warm, welcoming community. Our congregation embraces its members and friends, and we would love you to join us for Shabbat or an upcoming event. Shalom!

potluck friday - friday, november 22nd, 6 pm
This year, we're welcoming shabbat together in style as we rotate between Young Family Fridays, an early (5:30 - 6:15 pm) kid-friendly, song filled, participatory prayer experience led by Ori Salzberg with snacks and a sweet, Friday Night Live (FNL), Potluck Fridays featuring davening at 6 pm followed by a vegetarian, dairy potluck meal, Chavurah Fridays, and Traditional Friday nights with a standard service at 7:30 pm.
Join us for our first POTLUCK FRIDAY on November 22nd. Services will be at 6 pm followed by the dinner at 6:45 pm.
prayer conversations - saturday, november 23rd, 5 pm
All are invited to participate in our series of conversations about the history and culture of tefilah at Shearith Israel. The conversations will begin one hour before Havdalah, include a light 3rd meal of shabbat, and be followed by Ma'ariv and Havdalah.
The topic of each of these big conversations about prayers are: November 2nd - Why | November 23rd - For whom? | December 7th - Words | December 14th - Music | January 11th - Silence | January 25th - Presence

Don't miss the return of our Emory@Shearith series, featuring a 3-part series of lunch and learn lectures by Dr. Craig Perry, Associate Professor in Emory's Department of Middle Eastern & Asian Studies. Dr. Perry will speak on the topic ‘The Living Sea Scrolls’: New Histories of Jewish Life in the Middle Ages. The series is graciously sponsored by Susan & Stanley Tenenbaum.
